Wilsons Promontory known simply as “The Prom” to generations of bushwalkers and surfers is the southern most point of Australia’s mainland.
It is located on Victoria’s east coast 225kms from Melbourne. This most loved national park covers 130 km of coastline amidst granite headlands, forested mountain ranges and deep ferny gullies.
Some of The Proms beaches offer safe swimming for children and adults while others have treacherous surf rips that will quickly take swimmers out to sea.
Always research the exact location where you plan to venture into the water and please read all of the warning signs. Surfers will love the crystal clear waters and miles of white sandy beaches with good breaks. |
