Mornington Peninsula

 


Mornington Peninsula is located south east of Melbourne across the bay. With Port Philip Bay to the west, Westernport Bay on the east and Bass Straight to the south the Mornington Peninsula is prominently surrounded by water.

The Gateway to the Peninsula is the suburb of Frankston situated on the shores of Port Philip Bay 25kms east of Melbourne. Dromana, Rosebud, McCrae, Sorrento and Portsea are popular holiday locations facing Port Philip Bay.

Point Nepean National Park is located on the southern tip while the naval base HMAS Cerberus is located on the more remote east coast that faces toward Westernport Bay.
